On August 4th of 08, I took Cindy to Washington D.C. to see the capital and our son Jordan. The fifth was her Birthday and all she wanted for it was to go there and see the sights. It was an amazing time and wow, I am so proud to be an American. We toured the White House, The National Archives Museum (where we saw the original Declaration of Independence, our Constitution and Bill of Rights). We also had a great tour of the Capital Building given to us by our son who works for Senator John Cornyn of Texas. It was awesome. Our last day there, we saw the Washington Monument, the Korean War Memorial, the WWII Memorial, The Vietnam Memorial, The Lincoln Memorial and ended our day at The Arlington Cemetery. OMG! It was the most moving of all, over 300,000 graves from all of our wars. We witnessed the changing of the guard at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier and boy it choked me up. Anyway, my bride had a great Birthday and I feel more in love with my country than ever. There is a God Thread throughout our Capital. I told Cindy that if they were to take God out of Washington D.C. they would have to level the city. God Bless America In Jesus Del. 3jn2

July was a really busy month. We had our 22nd Homecoming at Calvary Temple Church from the 5th through the 9th, then from the 15th through the 22nd we were in Mexico. Following Mexico, I preached 2 Sunday services on the 27th then off to Houston for a telethon from the 28th through August 1st. Preached 2 services on Sunday the 3rd of August and headed for the airport in San Antonio at 6 AM August 4th to come home on August 8th then preach 2 services on August 10th. To say the least I have been meeting myself coming. I was completely worn out but finally the last couple of days I have been able to get some rest. Thank God. No rest for the Righteous. Ha!

On the 26th of June, Cindy, my good friends Dean and Mary Brown and myself had the wonderful privilege of meeting with Dr. Oral Roberts at his home in New Port Beach Ca. What an awesome experience. Dr. Roberts is 90 years young now and what a General of the faith. His wisdom and counsel is amazing. This was Cindy’s and my 3rd time to visit with Dr. Roberts and each time has been life changing. Here is an interesting story about Dean and Mary. Years ago when they we basically unknown, Dr. Roberts had heard them and when he was asked to appear on TBN, he said he would but wanted a young couple that he had heard to do the music for him. TBN contacted Dean and Mary and said that Dr. Roberts had requested they would be his music guests. Dean asked, “are you sure it is us” Ha! They said yes he wants Dean and Mary. Dean said, “YES”. What is funny about this, is that Dean called TBN like 5 times to make sure it was them he wanted.Anyway, they appeared and sang 9 songs that night and because of that night, Dean and Mary have been on television for 20 plus years and are known around the world. It was a great experience for Dean and Mary to tell Dr. Roberts how he impacted their life. Cindy and I fought back the tears while they talked to him.I want to thank my friend Pastor Jeff for making this happen.

On Sunday, June 8th, we did a concert at Jeff & Eileen Hackleman's church , Family Worship Center in Coldspring, Texas, a sister church of Family Worship in Huntsville. Pastor Jeff & Eileen are wonderful people, and their church made us feel right at home. My wife Cindy went with me (a rare treat) as well as my son Michael, his wife Tiffany and my granddaughter Victoria. The concert was wonderful, and the best part is nine people came to know Jesus. I guess they liked my music because I ran out of product. I'm not complaining though. That's a good thing. Thank you Pastor Jeff & Eileen and Family Worship Center for your graciousness. It was my pleasure to be at your church.

Thankful,

Speaking of graduation, my oldest granddaughter, Delanna Waliky, graduated from Tivy high School on May 31, 2008. Delanna is a cute, spunky little thing that I know will do great in life. She has been accepted into UTSA (University of Texas San Antonio) where she plans to earn her major in Photography and minor in Business. She seems to have a natural eye for photographs. As an amateur, she already takes great pictures. Since San Antonio is only an hour away, we are not too sad, but will miss seeing her every day. Congratulations Delanna! We are very proud of you and expect God to do great things in your life.

More proud,

As you may already know, I am the proud pastor of CTC in Kerrville, TX. I am also the senior pastor of three other churches: Thousand Hills Cowboy Church, Biker Church, and CTC Center Point-Comfort. I was honored to minister in concert to our own church people on Wed, May 28th. It is a scary thing to do in your own home town because you wonder if anyone will show up. Well people came and the service went great. There was such a sweet presence of God in the service. It was so refreshing. Let me say again, I love my Church!

Until next time,

I am so pleased to say that my oldest grandson, Justin Waliky, graduated from Texas Bible Institute on May 3, 2008 at the Merrill Center in Katy, Texas. After a nine month study of rigorous Bible studies and servant training, he successfully completed his requirements. Cindy and I are very proud of him and look forward to seeing him continue to grow in God. Texas Bible Institute is a Bible college in Columbus, Texas founded by my good friends Tommy & Rachel Burchfield. They also host Discovery Camps each summer for thousands of kids and teens from all across America. I know the kids from our church look forward to Discovery Camp each year, and they always come back with a fresh excitement for God. It is a great place to send your kids during the summer or your graduate who wants to get closer to God before deciding their future.

Proudly,

On May 16, 2008 I was honored to minister at Jones Creek Assembly of God in Lake Jackson, Texas. The place was jam-packed with good people who love Christian Country Music and the Lord. We sang, laughed and worshiped God all in one service. Ken Murray, the pastor of Jonescreek Assembly were very gracious and accomodating. I enjoy being there. thank You for inviting me! May God bless your endeavors in Lake Jackson.

On Tuesday, February 12th, I was asked to be a part of a special program on the Trinity Broadcasting Network. Paul and Jan Crouch wanted to air a show that would speak to people that are dealing with a loss in their lives. As many of you know, I lost my wife Diana to cancer twenty years ago. It was difficult to say the least. I believed God would heal Diana, and it didn’t happen. Going through something that difficult causes you to explore what you believe and why. Even though God didn’t physically heal Dianna, I know that God is a healer. One day, when I get to heaven, I will understand why that had to happen. Until then, I will keep trusting God. The show helped so many people, as testimonies to that effect came flooding in. I’m just glad God used me to help those that are hurting. I can testify that God heals the brokenness and makes life beautiful again.

Until next time,
Del Way

On January 4th I flew to Dallas, Texas to appear on the Trinity Broadcasting Network as a special music guest. I was honored to do so. The show went well, and I was even able to get on a different flight that got me home to my Cindoll earlier than expected. On the flight to Dallas, I introduced myself to a member of the military who was visibly upset. I asked her if she was okay. She began to tell me that she was on her way back to Iraq for her 5th tour of duty. She explained how each time it gets harder and harder. She had a husband and a baby she left behind to serve. I told her that I and my church would pray for her. She thanked me and kept herself covered with her hoody the rest of the flight. On that same flight, I saw 5 other military personal headed off to Iraq as well. Please remember to pray for their safety and strength. They need our support.

Respectfully,
Del Way
