Hey Guys and Gals, Several years ago I had the great honor and privilege of meeting and later becoming friends with the former head coach of the New Orleans Saints and the Houston Oilers, Bum Phillips and his lovely wife Debbie. We hit it off from the first time we met and I am humbled and honored that they became huge fans of my music. I tell everyone that Bum and Debbie Phillips are my greatest P.R. people. There is no telling how many of my CD’s they have given away. On October the 18th 2013 Bum went home to be with Jesus. Debbie was by his side as were many of his kids. Bum’s private funeral service was held October 23rd at his ranch in Goliad Texas. It was a beautiful, amazing, moving service with Mike Barber officiating. I had the honor of singing four of Bum’s favorite songs at the service. Then on Tuesday October 29th I had the privilege of singing at Lakewood Church for a Memorial Service for Bum. It was a Celebration of his life with many of Bum’s former players speaking. The service was broadcast live around the world on Daystar network. Bum was a good father, husband, coach, friend and Christian and will be missed terribly. I close with a phrase Bum used many times. When someone would leave him and tell him goodbye, Bum would often say, “it’s not goodbye for good, its just goodbye for awhile.” Well said my friend, well said. Hey Guys and Gals, God is so good. We are seeing many souls saved here in Kerrville at Calvary Temple Church. Praise God. Also, still working on my long overdue CD “Friend’s others and Elvis”. I am having to make sure it is legal for me to use EP’s name on my project. Pray it is. Finally, my good friend Doyle Dykes a while back was signed by Guild guitars to represent them and they launched a Doyle Dykes Signature guitar line. They are amazing and I have one that should be here in a few days. If you are a picker, I highly recommend this guitar. I pray God’s richest blessing on you and yours.

Hey guys, I pray you are all doing well. Cindy and I just returned for the Blues capital of the world and the home of The King of Rock and Roll… Elvis Presley. On our trip to Graceland, I contacted Big Jim Sykes and Big Jim interviewed Dean and me on Elvis Radio, Channel 19 Sirus/XM. Big Jim is a great guy and we really enjoyed ourself. Hello friends, I know I am pretty bad about blogging. I am REALLY going to try to do better. I am working on a new project that will be called “Friend’s, Other’s and Elvis”. I have friends that have written songs that have blessed my life over the years and I want to honor them by recording them my way. Also, there are songs that have really ministered to me by people I didn’t know well, but always wanted to record their songs. Finally, I think it is pretty common knowledge that I have always been a huge Elvis fan, so I will record a couple of songs that Elvis did and sing them with my touch on them. I am hoping to get Elvis’s lead guitar player James Burton to play on this project. You may have seen a recent pic of me with my head shaved. The reason I did this is because my very good friend Dean Brown is battling cancer and the chemo has caused his hair to fall out. I told Cindy early on that if Dean loses his hair, then I will lose mine. He did, so I did. Please be in agreement with Dean, Mary, Cindy and me for his complete healing. Everything else is going great, church is great, family is great and Jesus is great. I pray your best days are ahead for you.

Hello Everyone, Don't pass out...Yes I am writing a new blog. I am going to try to have it fresh regularly. We just finished our 25th Anniversary here at the church and it was AMAZING!!! I was totally shocked at the outpouring of love that was shown to me. The picture above is of my new Street Glide Harley that my church family, Cindy and friends from all over America so graciously gave me. I am so thankful that I do not have the words to express it properly. Thank you all. I am starting to travel more now and I am really working on some great new songs. I promise to have a new project before too terribly long. Thank you for your patience and support. Cindy and I are doing great and God is blessing tremendously. I pray that God will keep you, bless you, anoint you, love you, give you peace, hope and a future beyond you comprehension. In Jesus name I call you blessed.

Much Love, "Always ride a good horse"

Hey everyone, Happy New Year! I pray that this year will be the best ever for you. I am believing for great things. It has started out good so far for me. On the 7th I celebrated 21 years of marriage to my lovely bride Cindy. Yeah!!! On the 13th I was on world wide television (TBN) with my good friend Dwight Thompson along with several of my cowboy buddies. It was awesome. I sang 5 songs and had a blast. I'm going to see Bennie Hinn in San Antonio next week, then to Midland to Faith country Cowboy Church with my friends Tony and Karen Conner on Friday the 22nd of this month. God is good. I will try to be better on my blogs. Ha!

Hello Friends, sorry for the delay on my blogs. It's been a crazy couple of months. You may or may not know, but on June 15, 2009 my long time friend, assistant, youth leader and praise leader Crystal Haynes was killed in a motorcycle accident near Bandera, Texas. It hit our church like a train. Cindy and I got the call Sunday evening the 14th of June about 7 p.m. that Crystal and her husband Bo had been in an accident and were being life flighted to University hospital in San Antonio. We immediately headed there. Long story short, we didn't get much info from the Doctors for a long time. Dozens of us stayed up all night with Geneva and Michael (Bo and Crystal's kids age 19 and 17) just waiting for some news. Finally news came...and it wasn't good. I met with the Doctors and they said that Bo was going to lose part of his right leg and that Crystal was not responding. Horrible news. I asked the Doc if Bo was in good enough condition for me to talk to him. He said yes. By this time they had already taken his leg, Bo was medicated. When I walked up to his bed, his first words were... "How is Crystal?" I didn't want to give him much hope, but I didn't want to appear that is was hopeless (considering his condition). I just told Bo that we have a sick girl on our hands and that there was a team of doctors working to stabilize Crystal. The next thing Bo said to me (as I looked at the sheet that covered his legs, obviously noticing his right leg was shorter) "Pastor Del, I think they are going to take my right leg". He had no idea that they had already taken it. I told him better your leg than your life. Then I went back up to Surgical ICU to see Crystal I knew when I saw her that the only way she could survive would be with a miracle. I prayed over her and tried to comfort the kids and our church family, while trying to comfort myself. I loved Crystal like family. The Doctor happened to be a man that attended our church 6 years earlierbefore he moved to SA so he gave me unprecedented access and information. He let me be in on every test they did on Crystal. He showed me the ct-scans and explained how they should look and how the actually looked. I knew from my experience and from the ct-scan data that she was not with us anymore. I began to gently prepare her kids, family and our church family for the worst. It seemed like days but was actually only a day and a half. Everyone stayed up all night. At times there were close to a hundred people lining the halls. I had to tell people to please not come to the hospital. The Doc told me that they felt that Crystal was brain dead and by law they had to do three tests before they could take her off life support. I was allowed to be present during all of them. The first test was a series of things to see if she responded, her eyes, to see if she would cough and to tell if she felt anything in her extremities. I watched and there was NO response. By law, they had to repeat that test 6 hours later to confirm there was no life there. The doctor told me there was a test that they needed to do before the final 6-hour test. He said they were going to put dye into her blood stream and scan her brain to see if any blood was getting to her brain. He then began the final test (the 6 hour test). Once again, there was no response. It was then that I asked if they could leave her on life support for a while so the kids and friends could say goodbye. They said of course. I then went into the hall where over a hundred of her family and friends were waiting. I will never forget the scene. When I walked out, there was a strange silence, you could hear a pin drop. All eyes were focused on me. I took a deep breath and told the crowd, "We have lost our girl". Silence was turned to unbelievable weeping, sobbing adn even waling. Everyone was crying, including myself. I had to manage to stay pretty strong until then. I did lose it a bit then. But thank God He gave me strength to regroup and take care of the rest of the touch task I had ahead..."Telling Bo". I went down to Bo's room with the Doctor to tell him that Crystal was gone. I really didn't have to tell him, as soon as I walked in and he saw me, Bo said "she didn't make it did she Pastor Del?" I said I am sorry Bo she didn't. I have never seen this amazing man cry, ever. But I saw him as his heart was ripped from his chest. One of the most difficult things I have ever experienced in my life. Well, on Monday June the 15th at 3:15 p.m. Crystal Renee Haynes was officially declared dead. Crystal wanted to donate her organs, so they let me stay with her all the way until they took her to do surgery. I walked her to the surgery elevator kissed her on the forehead and told her to go save someone's life. Today her heart beats in someone else's chest. Praise God. We all still miss her terribly. This is the first time I have been able to write about it. Please keep us in your prayers as our church tries to heal. Also, please keep Bo, Geneva and Michael in your prayers. They are doing pretty good. Bo is doing amazing, even joking about his leg. He said he was going to attach a trolling motor on the end of it. Ha! It is just starting to hit Geneva that she has lost her mom and best friend. Michael is doing great. One final word that will lighten things up, Crystal wanted to be cremated and so we did granted her wishes. She always loved New York and wanted to go to Paris. Well, as I type this, my son Jordan is in Paris France with some of her ashes. He is putting them in a planter next to the Eiffel Tower. Also, in December, JK will take her to New York's Central Park. Thanks for letting me vent.

In Jesus, PS. Crystal's memorial was standing room only! She was loved.

May 10-15 I was in Navarre, Fl, finishing up my latest project "My Time With You..."In Memory". It is in memory of the late Terry McMillan. I did a re-mix of my original project, re-cut some instruments and re-did all of my vocals as well as add several extra songs. I am very proud of the project. It should be available in a couple of months. I recorded at Coleman Studios in Navarre, FL with my good friends Mark and Kim Coleman. Hello Katie

I did a concert at Cowboy Junction Cowboy Church with my dear friends Wade and Louise Markam in Vinita, OK. Wow, the place was packed and we had great altar response. That is my favorite place to go. Plus the food is not bad either. Ha! Actually Cindy got to go with me to Vinita and then to Little Rock on April 7th to John 3:16 Ministries. WOW, what a great bunch of folks these people are, and they have one of the best ministries for people wanting to be free from alcohol and drugs that I have ever seen.

Hey everyone, Del here. Once again I am sorry for the delayed in my blog. No excuse, but I have been really busy with church, recording, concerts and etc. Here are a few things I have been doing. I was asked to preach at Tivy High School for a thing called Shattered Dreams. It is a program that re-enacts a drunk-driving accident. Kids are killed and basically I do their moch funeral with caskets present and all. Family members stand up and speak as though their kids were really in those caskets. It is an amazingly emotional service. Then I get up and preach and challenge those attending to stay away from drinking, but if they do (which many will), I tell them not to drink and drive. Anyway, it is a very effective time, with great results.

Sorry yall, I have been very busy and my computer has been acting up but now I am back. I did a telethon for TBN's educational network CET, JEB and SEN a total of five stations between Texas and Florida. Things went good and Laura Hanks the station manager of KETH 14 Houston did a fine job as well as all of the staff. I had the privilege of being with some old friends and meeting some new ones. Walt Mills, The Nash 3, Alvin Slaughter to name a few of my old friends and then I met Kurt Carr and his singers as well as many others. There are some anointed people in this world. Anyway, now I am getting ready to go to Nashville on the 17th to the TBN studio to record 3 or 4 songs that friends of mine and I wrote. Mainly demo songs. I still do all of my major recording and Coleman Studios in Navarre, FL. Then on the 24th I am taping a TV program in Dallas with Dwight Thompson. I will be a music guest as well as an interview guest. On the 30th of this month I will go to California to be with Dr. Paul Crouch for a great week of Telethon, tune in and give please. I think you can see that I am very busy, but I am also very grateful for all of the doors God has and is opening for me. Well, that is my life. By the way, Family is good, Cindy is pretty as ever and I am a blessed man. That's if for now. God Bless you all. P.S. I forgot to tell you some really great news. God has blessed me with an Artist Deal with Taylor Guitars. So please buy a Taylor from my guitar picking friends and tell them Del sent you.

Happy New Year everyone, I pray your year has started out good and will end great. I have been so busy with the holidays and end of the year stuff that I made me get behind a bit on my blogs. Anyway, Christmas at the Way house was great, family all around and lots of food and gifts. Calvary Temple Church is doing well with attendance on the rise. We are seeing souls saved almost every service. Praise God. Del Way Ministries is doing good and doing more than ever. I have so many invites to go and minister the good news through song. I am grateful for all of the open doors. I am working on a new CD and doing television more. I will be taping a TBN Praise The Lord program on the 27th of this month. Pray I do good please. I am praying that your life be blessed this year. I don't know about you, but I am glad 2008 is gone and look forward to what God is going to do in 2009. Thank you for your prayers and your faithfulness to the Kingdom. Again , Happy New Year

My day started great and ended great. Cindy and I went to the hospital to witness the birth of the Way families latest addition Karlynn Nicole Way. Six pounds six ounces of perfect joy. Kendra my D/n/L did great. My son Heath was gleaming and proud as was Cindy and myself. By the way I was the first to hold her, then handed her to Kendra. Just a little bragging point. Ha! God is good to me. Thanks for your prayers for my family.

1000 Hills Cowboy Church, Kerrville, Texas - This is our Cowboy churches annual roping that we so. It is a huge event and we have hundreds attend. I have been asked to preach and sing at this roping since it began and I am humbled each time. This time my week before was busy and emotional. On Thursday I received a phone call from one of my family members that my first cousin Jacky L. Bryant had died of a heart attack. Wow, that was a blow to me for several reasons. One reason is that I have always been close to Jack and his wife Beverly. I used to live with them years ago BC (before Christ) and they put up with me and loved me. I will never forget those days and the bond that was built between us. Memories flooded my mind when I found out Jack had passed. By the way, he is in heaven. I had to go to my cousin Tim's (Jack's Brother) wife to tell her about Jack so she could figure out how to tell Tim. Long story short, it was a very emotional time, I went to Tim's house right after he found out his brother had died, then had to go to my Aunt Barbara's house (Jack's mother), to tell her that her son had died. It was hard. Back to cowboy..I went to Thousand Hills at 10 AM and did the service. God showed up. In spite of my heartache and stress, when I gave the altar call, 60 people came out of the stands and accepted Jesus as their savior. You have never heard a more beautiful sound than spurs jingling coming out of the stands to accept Jesus. It was awesome. At 2 that same day I had the wonderful privilege of doing Jack's going home service. 15 raised their hands admitting they needed Jesus, several told me they prayed with me. God is good to me. Thanks for your prayers for my family.

Well, the morning of the 19th started out full speed. I drove to San Antonio, TX to host the local Praise The Lord program on KHCE23. I had a great time there. I love D and the crew, they are so much fun and I feel like one of them. They always treat me so good, even though they pick on me some. But, I must admit... I pick back. After the program (that went great by the way) I drove back to Kerrville, ate lunch, then Michael (my son), Len (a great friend and co-laborer) drove to Milam County Cowboy Church in Rockdale, TX to do a concert. They are a great bunch of folks there. I believe they have a great future. I sang several songs and had an altar call and I think around 20 people came down to accept Jesus. So many testimony's. A mother got saved, a husband and wife and a man's grown son, just to focus on a few. To God be the glory. We drove back home that night and got some needed sleep after a long day.

Hilltop Freewill Baptist Church/Wewoka, OK Wow, what a great bunch of people. My son Michael and myself had the awesome privilege of being at this wonderful church for a concert. We were so warmly received and treated great. The place was full and had great salvation response. By the way, they have a great band that played before me and rocked the house. Thank you Pastor Russell, I hope I can come back sometime.

Hello everyone, I have been very busy and God has blessed me so much. I have been preaching a series of messages on "Go for the Gold." I think they have been very good, but that is me Ha! We also had my buddies Paul and Robert from the Duo Branded at our church. Wow, these guys are amazing. They are great writers, singers, ministers and entertainers. Our people loved them. I hope they win at the award show in Nashville in October. Except for songwriter, I am nominated for that Ha! Anyway, God is good and I am excited about the future. I do have some advice for all who read my blog. READ & PRAY like never before. We are facing a diluted time in the church world today, a church that is little on substance and high on entertainment. Nothing wrong with entertainment, but I am seeing more and more shallow substance-less Christians. It is alarming! We are seeker friendly CRAZY! I will write more at another time I am a bit worked up right now.

On August 4th of 08, I took Cindy to Washington D.C. to see the capital and our son Jordan. The fifth was her Birthday and all she wanted for it was to go there and see the sights. It was an amazing time and wow, I am so proud to be an American. We toured the White House, The National Archives Museum (where we saw the original Declaration of Independence, our Constitution and Bill of Rights). We also had a great tour of the Capital Building given to us by our son who works for Senator John Cornyn of Texas. It was awesome. Our last day there, we saw the Washington Monument, the Korean War Memorial, the WWII Memorial, The Vietnam Memorial, The Lincoln Memorial and ended our day at The Arlington Cemetery. OMG! It was the most moving of all, over 300,000 graves from all of our wars. We witnessed the changing of the guard at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier and boy it choked me up. Anyway, my bride had a great Birthday and I feel more in love with my country than ever. There is a God Thread throughout our Capital. I told Cindy that if they were to take God out of Washington D.C. they would have to level the city. God Bless America In Jesus Del. 3jn2

July was a really busy month. We had our 22nd Homecoming at Calvary Temple Church from the 5th through the 9th, then from the 15th through the 22nd we were in Mexico. Following Mexico, I preached 2 Sunday services on the 27th then off to Houston for a telethon from the 28th through August 1st. Preached 2 services on Sunday the 3rd of August and headed for the airport in San Antonio at 6 AM August 4th to come home on August 8th then preach 2 services on August 10th. To say the least I have been meeting myself coming. I was completely worn out but finally the last couple of days I have been able to get some rest. Thank God. No rest for the Righteous. Ha!

On the 26th of June, Cindy, my good friends Dean and Mary Brown and myself had the wonderful privilege of meeting with Dr. Oral Roberts at his home in New Port Beach Ca. What an awesome experience. Dr. Roberts is 90 years young now and what a General of the faith. His wisdom and counsel is amazing. This was Cindy’s and my 3rd time to visit with Dr. Roberts and each time has been life changing. Here is an interesting story about Dean and Mary. Years ago when they we basically unknown, Dr. Roberts had heard them and when he was asked to appear on TBN, he said he would but wanted a young couple that he had heard to do the music for him. TBN contacted Dean and Mary and said that Dr. Roberts had requested they would be his music guests. Dean asked, “are you sure it is us” Ha! They said yes he wants Dean and Mary. Dean said, “YES”. What is funny about this, is that Dean called TBN like 5 times to make sure it was them he wanted.Anyway, they appeared and sang 9 songs that night and because of that night, Dean and Mary have been on television for 20 plus years and are known around the world. It was a great experience for Dean and Mary to tell Dr. Roberts how he impacted their life. Cindy and I fought back the tears while they talked to him.I want to thank my friend Pastor Jeff for making this happen.

On Sunday, June 8th, we did a concert at Jeff & Eileen Hackleman's church , Family Worship Center in Coldspring, Texas, a sister church of Family Worship in Huntsville. Pastor Jeff & Eileen are wonderful people, and their church made us feel right at home. My wife Cindy went with me (a rare treat) as well as my son Michael, his wife Tiffany and my granddaughter Victoria. The concert was wonderful, and the best part is nine people came to know Jesus. I guess they liked my music because I ran out of product. I'm not complaining though. That's a good thing. Thank you Pastor Jeff & Eileen and Family Worship Center for your graciousness. It was my pleasure to be at your church.

Thankful,

Speaking of graduation, my oldest granddaughter, Delanna Waliky, graduated from Tivy high School on May 31, 2008. Delanna is a cute, spunky little thing that I know will do great in life. She has been accepted into UTSA (University of Texas San Antonio) where she plans to earn her major in Photography and minor in Business. She seems to have a natural eye for photographs. As an amateur, she already takes great pictures. Since San Antonio is only an hour away, we are not too sad, but will miss seeing her every day. Congratulations Delanna! We are very proud of you and expect God to do great things in your life.

As you may already know, I am the proud pastor of CTC in Kerrville, TX. I am also the senior pastor of three other churches: Thousand Hills Cowboy Church, Biker Church, and CTC Center Point-Comfort. I was honored to minister in concert to our own church people on Wed, May 28th. It is a scary thing to do in your own home town because you wonder if anyone will show up. Well people came and the service went great. There was such a sweet presence of God in the service. It was so refreshing. Let me say again, I love my Church!

Until next time,

I am so pleased to say that my oldest grandson, Justin Waliky, graduated from Texas Bible Institute on May 3, 2008 at the Merrill Center in Katy, Texas. After a nine month study of rigorous Bible studies and servant training, he successfully completed his requirements. Cindy and I are very proud of him and look forward to seeing him continue to grow in God. Texas Bible Institute is a Bible college in Columbus, Texas founded by my good friends Tommy & Rachel Burchfield. They also host Discovery Camps each summer for thousands of kids and teens from all across America. I know the kids from our church look forward to Discovery Camp each year, and they always come back with a fresh excitement for God. It is a great place to send your kids during the summer or your graduate who wants to get closer to God before deciding their future.

On May 16, 2008 I was honored to minister at Jones Creek Assembly of God in Lake Jackson, Texas. The place was jam-packed with good people who love Christian Country Music and the Lord. We sang, laughed and worshiped God all in one service. Ken Murray, the pastor of Jonescreek Assembly were very gracious and accomodating. I enjoy being there. thank You for inviting me! May God bless your endeavors in Lake Jackson.

On Tuesday, February 12th, I was asked to be a part of a special program on the Trinity Broadcasting Network. Paul and Jan Crouch wanted to air a show that would speak to people that are dealing with a loss in their lives. As many of you know, I lost my wife Diana to cancer twenty years ago. It was difficult to say the least. I believed God would heal Diana, and it didn’t happen. Going through something that difficult causes you to explore what you believe and why. Even though God didn’t physically heal Dianna, I know that God is a healer. One day, when I get to heaven, I will understand why that had to happen. Until then, I will keep trusting God. The show helped so many people, as testimonies to that effect came flooding in. I’m just glad God used me to help those that are hurting. I can testify that God heals the brokenness and makes life beautiful again.

Until next time,
Del Way

On January 4th I flew to Dallas, Texas to appear on the Trinity Broadcasting Network as a special music guest. I was honored to do so. The show went well, and I was even able to get on a different flight that got me home to my Cindoll earlier than expected. On the flight to Dallas, I introduced myself to a member of the military who was visibly upset. I asked her if she was okay. She began to tell me that she was on her way back to Iraq for her 5th tour of duty. She explained how each time it gets harder and harder. She had a husband and a baby she left behind to serve. I told her that I and my church would pray for her. She thanked me and kept herself covered with her hoody the rest of the flight. On that same flight, I saw 5 other military personal headed off to Iraq as well. Please remember to pray for their safety and strength. They need our support.

Respectfully,
Del Way
